Providence St. Mary Medical Center (PSMMC) provides care for a population of approximately 130,000 people in Southeast Washington and Northeast Oregon. With the closure of the other hospital in Walla Walla, PSMMC retained The Innova Group to help leadership define the future programmatic service offerings as the first phase of a campus master plan.
The planning process included a comprehensive review of market demographics, service line-specific position, competition (both acute care hospitals and physician groups), and future volume estimates for the market and PSMMC. Primary outputs of the engagement were volumes and key planning units for major clinical departments and a financial model to inform the order of magnitude of capital the business unit could support.
