Harborview Medical Center is a tertiary care hospital providing regional services for trauma and burn care for a four-state region. As a community hospital affiliated with The University of Washington, the Medical Center provides a full range of outpatient and inpatient healthcare services and research to a wide demographic spectrum of the Seattle area population.
The Innova Group analyzed historical user demographics, workloads, and service lines, and forecasted user populations and services. This analysis – along with architectural and engineering assessments – drove the master planning efforts on the Medical Center campus. Unique analysis and solutions were developed for:
- Energy systems
- Seismic upgrades
- Urban planning and linkage to mass transit
- Facility regeneration
Additionally, the master planning options developed, honored, and built upon the work of the original Major Institutional Master Plan (MIMP) and its planned and potential capital improvement projects.
