As China undergoes a massive population shift from the countryside to urban centers, the need for urban housing and infrastructure is growing accordingly. This is the case near Zhengzhou in the New Zhendong Area, a new city being developed to house two million new residents. As part of its effort to accommodate such unprecedented numbers of people, the Chinese government turned to The Innova Group to study the viability of and lead the strategic and tactical planning for a new, comprehensive tertiary healthcare campus for the new city.
Through scenario modeling, Innova’s team examined the specifics of the existing marketplace, along with anticipated growth patterns, to produce a strategic plan for the project that will ultimately become a 1,500-bed hospital complex that is essentially a city unto itself.
Along with CMC Architects, The Innova Group partnered on the completion of programming, campus master planning, and schematic designs. Through meticulous room-by-room programmatic analysis and complete work line analysis, Innova’s team was instrumental in developing a world-class facility to provide a broad spectrum of specialties at a level that meets or exceeds international hospital standards.
